Getting sleepy I must say,
I'll soon retire for the day.
I'll post these rhymes before I lay,
But who's gonna read them anyway?
Oh, right, maybe some friends will read this post,
While enjoying a piece of morning toast,
Well that sounds silly and rather absurd,
Isn't that the worst rhyme you've ever heard?
What else shall I include in this rhyme of mine,
To increase it's length by just one line?
Well, I don't have much to write about,
So it's better if I don't and just sign out.
If the rhymes weren't good please don't cry,
What more would you expect from a sleepy guy?
Now I shall sleep to avoid the scene,
Of me falling asleep in front of the screen.
Good night.

The mystery of the confusing dates
The gentle breeze of the fan swept across my face as I fixed my eyes upon the computer screen. I was on Facebook. As I scrolled down the news feed on my home page, something caught my attention. It was a post by a friend. It went something like “SPM results out on the 23rd of February?! No way!”. Ah, yes. It was that time of the year. Everyone who sat for the big examination the previous year, myself included, were anxiously waiting for the results to come out. I checked the date on my digital watch. 17th February. Six days huh? I decided to look up when the results were released in the previous years. I found that the dates always ranged sometime in the middle of March. I began to doubt that my friends post was of any significance. From that moment on, multiple rumours began to spread like wildfire, and no one knew what to believe. Some people said results would be out in the middle of March like always, others said the end of March, early March, or even like the first rumour, the end of February. Well one thing was for sure, the release of the SPM results was just around the corner. The only problem was we had no way of knowing when. Today is the 22nd of February (technically anyway, since it is now past 12am), and still not a word has been said on the news about the SPM results. That definitely rules out the 23rd. Another post of a friend of mine suggested that results would be out on the 28th of February. So far, this is the most convincing. A lot of people seem confident that the date is correct. I myself am starting to believe that this rumour is true after reading my best friends blog post about it. In fact, I'm hoping results really do come out on the 28th. That's 6 days from now. Pretty scary, I admit, but at least I'll be able to meet my friends sooner. Whether or not it comes out on the 28th remains a mystery. A mystery which only time can solve. I guess the confusion will have to continue for the time being.

Observing observance
I, for one, love to observe, and many a time notice things that other people don't. Like how the last flight of stairs at school is one step less than the ones before it. Or what's written on T-shirts of people at the mall. Heck, even how an old fan produces a distinctive squeak sound every so and so seconds. Yes, all useless information, I know. But observing for the sake of observing has become somewhat of a hobby of mine. It feels good sometimes, to be able to observe things well, and then tell someone about what you observed, then watch their confused and amazed facial expressions, leaving you feeling like some kind of Sherlock. However, being too keen of an observer can be problematic. For instance, an exceptional observer may be offended by things that aren't meant to be in the least offensive. Also, once such a thing happens, people won't understand the sudden change of your emotion. Even if you were to try to explain, they wouldn't get why you were offended in the first place. In order for one to understand, one must also possess similar observational abilities. Things which do not matter in the slightest to people in general, may be something that constantly lingers in the mind of the observer. While observance may lead to sadness and depression, it makes life imminently more interesting. Had I not observed, I wouldn't have been able to write this whole thing in the first place. Three cheers for observance.
